The Woman Who Rewrote Her Story

Brunita Lilly is the creator behind The Rewritten Woman and The Frausto Collective. Two brands born from lived experience, resilience, and transformation. Her story is one of grace and grit: rebuilding after life's hardest chapters, and choosing to become powerful rather than stay broken.

A three-time breast cancer warrior and uterine cancer survivor, Brunita has faced adversity most people can't imagine — and turned it into purpose. Her battle with cancer led to several autoimmune disorders, and rather than let that be the end of her story, she made it the beginning of a new mission: helping others manage autoimmune health through diet and lifestyle. She is also the proud mother of three adult children, a role she carries with as much pride as any title she's earned.

Brunita holds two bachelor's degrees, in Business Management and Healthcare Administration, from Abilene Christian University, where she was named on the Dean's List (2024, 2025) and President's List (2026), and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She is currently pursuing a dual master's degree in an accelerated fast-track program.

Her credentials don't stop there. She holds a professional health certificate (graduating at the top of her class), a cosmetology license, a real estate license, and a quality assurance management license, a combination that reflects both her intellectual range and her hands-on drive.

From classrooms to corporations to her own companies, Brunita has worn many hats! A teacher's assistant, a coach, an area manager, a founder and owner of ventures ranging from Strictly Tee's Graphic Design Studio to construction and beef jerky businesses, with several of those companies thriving and operating today. Now, she runs companies focused on building generational wealth for her adult children, anticipated grandchildren, and generations after.

A published author, Brunita writes on two passions: social media strategy for business growth, family law dynamics, personal journeys, and health and nutrition for those navigating autoimmune disorders, drawing from her own journey.

The Rewritten Woman was created to inspire others to embrace their own transformation. Through storytelling, lifestyle content, and real-life experience, Brunita encourages women to step into their next chapter with courage, confidence, and clarity. Proof that a woman can be rewritten as many times as it takes to become who she's meant to be.

Brunita Lilly began her academic path in 2010 at Texas Tech University, where she studied pre-law coursework and later pursued additional training related to the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) licensing requirements. In 2014, she obtained her National Certified Quality Assurance Management Certificate, strengthening her foundation in organizational systems and professional standards.

From 2011 to 2014, Brunita attended South Plains College, where she pursued English Literature while simultaneously advancing her professional certifications, including earning her National Certified Medical Assistant license. She continued her education at South Plains College from 2016 to 2018, where she completed her Cosmetology Operator License, further expanding her expertise in client care, service, and entrepreneurship within the beauty industry.

Brunita later attended Abilene Christian University with the goal of pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and earned her Pre-Health Certificate. During this time, she experienced significant life challenges, including a formal investigation with the Texas Board of Nursing during her application process for licensure. After review and resolution, she was ultimately cleared by the Texas Board of Licensing, allowing her to continue her educational and professional journey in a new direction.

She has since completed her academic path toward a double Bachelor's degree in Business Management and Healthcare Administration, and has advanced her legal studies by completing her Certified Paralegal certification.

Brunita is currently enrolled at Abilene Christian University, pursuing her Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Healthcare Administration, with an expected graduation in Summer 2027.

Throughout her journey, Brunita has faced and overcome significant personal and professional challenges, including cancer, domestic violence, wrongful accusations, employment termination, and courtroom battles involving a felony offense and countless false allegations by multiple false affidavits. These experiences have shaped not only her strength but her purpose.

Through her writing and published works, Brunita shares parts of her lived experience—carefully changing names and identifying details for privacy while preserving the truth of her story. Her mission is to empower women and young girls to persevere through adversity, rebuild after hardship, and believe in the power of faith, resilience, and purpose.

No matter how hard the battle becomes, faith and perseverance will carry you through—and victory is still possible.

About Brunita Lilly

Born in the Panhandle of Texas to Jeannie Martinez and Alexander Frausto, Brunita Lilly was raised with deep family roots, strong values, and an understanding that life is built through hard work, resilience, and love. She grew up alongside her sister and brother shared by her parents, her youngest brother from her mother, and two step-sisters from her father and stepmother, surrounded by a large blended family that shaped her understanding of loyalty, perseverance, and connection.

From an early age, Brunita Lilly learned that country life was not just a lifestyle—it was a way of survival. Her childhood was filled with feeding baby calves, milking goats, gathering eggs from the chicken coop, and running from angry turkeys and roosters determined to chase her across the yard. She quickly learned that life moves fast in the country—especially when a rooster gets ahold of you.

A true country girl at heart, she grew up horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and helping her family care for livestock. She learned how to hog tie pigs alongside her family, later enjoying homemade bacon and ham around the dinner table. She went rabbit hunting with her grandfather, uncles, and father, and deer hunting became a family tradition that often ended with homemade deer jerky shared among loved ones.

Some of her fondest memories were made beside her paternal grandmother in the kitchen, learning how to make homemade jam and preserve food with love and patience. She also grew up around ostrich racing, agriculture, and the hardworking spirit of ranch life that defined generations before her.

Her upbringing was deeply connected to culture, spirituality, and family traditions. Visiting the reservation taught her the importance of spiritual cleansing, prayer, and healing. She remembers entering the teepee, where sage and hot lava rocks filled the space with steam and sacred tradition as water was poured over the heated stones. Those moments became part of the spiritual foundation she carries with her today.

Brunita Lilly’s grandparents were trailblazers whose legacy continues to inspire her journey. Her paternal grandfather became the first Hispanic mayor and one of the first Hispanic business owners in the Panhandle of Texas during the late 1970s and early 1980s. He also became the first business owner in the area to officially hire an African American employee—breaking barriers during a time when equality was not easily accepted. Together, her grandparents built a business that served families throughout Texas and surrounding states, creating a legacy of leadership, courage, and service that would impact generations to come.

In 2021, Brunita Lilly lost her paternal grandfather to Stage 4 cancer, followed by the heartbreaking loss of her paternal grandmother to dementia one year later. Her maternal grandfather, a man she lovingly compared to Santa Claus with his snow-white hair and hazel eyes, also passed away from cancer at a young age. Today, the only grandparent she still has living is her maternal Spanish grandmother, Brunita—the woman whose name has been passed down from generation to generation, from great-great-grandmother to granddaughter.

Before her paternal grandfather passed away, he shared words with her that forever changed her life:

“Anyone can take the material things in your life away. They can take your house, your car, your land, and your money. But they can never take your knowledge, your education, or the wisdom you gained throughout your years. So strengthen your mind, fulfill your education, and learn as much as you can—because nobody can ever take that from you.”

Those words became a promise Brunita Lilly carries in her heart every single day.

Through hardship, loss, personal battles, setbacks, and triumphs, she remains determined to keep going—to continue her education, fulfill her purpose, and inspire others to never give up, no matter how difficult the road becomes.
